Johns Of Times Square (Pizzeria)

Hola!!

I just arrived in NYC today with my family, and we took a taxi from La Guardia Airport to go to our hotel and we met a few nice locals along the way. One of them recommended us this place called Johns of Times Square. It's an authentic pizzeria located in the middle of the vibrant streets of New York, welcoming locals and tourists from around the world to try its authentic Italian flavors.

Coming from a family that has Italian ancestry, I truly have an appreciation for food and how its made, and I do believe each time we eat, the flavor of the culture should be felt in the food. And this place has taken me back to Italy, with one bite! The pizzas are made freshly here every day in their coal-fired ovens and the cheese literally melts in your mouth!! :) It is super delicious :) We ordered the Margarita Pizza, and we immediately fell in love. I truly felt like we had a 100% unique Italian experience in the middle of Times Square, with a pizza made of fresh ingredients. Every time I visit a place, I try to look for the authenticity of the city. Where do the locals eat? How do people live here on a day-to-day basis? To not only see the turisty places, but to feel the true essence of the place you're visiting, and that is super important and the best part of the whole experience of traveling.

Johns of Times Square, not only has an amazing cuisine; but, also is known for its distinct history that makes it the most unique pizzeria in the world and also the largest pizzeria in the United States. It all starts in the year of 1995, Madeline Castellotti, when she was walking along the streets of NYC, and came across an abandoned Gospel Tabernacle Church on West 44th St. The ceiling of the church was made up of stained glass, and it was made up of 8 parts that were all equal in size, and she immediately thought of a pizza due to the shape. That's when Madeline's dream came true. She turned the abandoned church, to a unique pizzeria with homemade Italian food and with beautiful European architectures on the inside of the restaurant. It's a must-see/eat in New York City :)

Buon Appetito!! :)
